The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced that more than three thousand international students have applied to study in Iraqi universities for the academic year 2023/2024. In his speech during the first scholarship conference held by the Supreme Committee for Educational Development in Iraq, he confirmed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research had succeeded in establishing its pioneering project entitled (Study in Iraq).To attract international students to study in Iraqi universities, whose official platforms documented more than three thousand applicants from Arab and foreign countries, revealing at the same time the ministry’s readiness to hold a conference on the internationalization of education that will be held next November to host an elite group of universities that top the first quarter of the results of the Shanghai classification of In order to expand the horizons of partnership between Iraqi universities and their international counterparts and consolidate the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research towards shifting to the Bologna path, global openness, and scientific keeping pace with changing academic knowledge. He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has thoughtfully employed the energies of scholarship students scientifically and administratively in the academic institution, and that its procedures are not limited to approving scholarships and updating scholarship guides, but it is also responsible for the course of study fellowships granted to Iraq, explaining that the Ministry has completed more than six hundred since the beginning of this year until now. Fellowship, as well as research grant programs, visiting professorships, and sabbaticals, not to mention memorandums of understanding with Arab and foreign educational institutions and cooperation frameworks with relevant international organizations. The conference activities witnessed a number of official speeches, presentations, and a review of success stories achieved by Iraqi students on scholarship in universities around the world.
