At the meeting of the Opinion Board…Education, it was decided to increase the rate of acceptance of institute graduates into universities and to form a ministerial committee to review the privileges in the student admission file. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, chaired the eleventh regular meeting of the Opinion Board for the year 2023, in the presence of advanced staff members and presidents of public universities. The attendees discussed the topics on the agenda and voted on the following decisions:

Forming a ministerial committee to study the establishment of a scientific investment company at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Exempting professors and assistant professors from civil defense police stations.

Emphasizing the adoption of proven examination attempts in the field of equivalency for the specialties of the medical group.

Increasing the acceptance rate of institute graduates in all universities to 20%.

Forming a ministerial committee to review the privileges granted to some categories of students for the purpose of admission to universities.

Approval of allocating part of the land belonging to the University of Baghdad in Al-Amriya to the University of Information and Communications Technology.

The attendees discussed the university project file and the procedural requirements for their completion, while the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, directed more integration between the formations and giving priority to the public interest in order to achieve the mission and goals of the Iraqi academic institution, empower universities with their independence in accordance with what the law allows, consolidate community service spaces, and achieve development goals. Sustainable education based on the pillar of quality education that puts educational institutions on the right path towards international accreditation.
